Statement of Faith

1. The Bible

We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human life and conduct should be judged. We believe in all that it teaches, obey all that it requires, and trust in all that it promises.

2. The Trinity

We believe in the one true God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

3. God the Father

We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that the Father according to His eternal purpose sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, for the salvation of mankind. We believe that He hears and answers prayers, and all who come to Him through Jesus Christ are saved from sin and death and become the children of God.

4. God the Son

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His suffering and substitutionary death on the cross for our sins, His burial and bodily resurrection from the dead and His exaltation to the right hand of God.

5. God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. We also believe that the Holy Spirit indwells, illuminates, guides, equips with gifts and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.

6. The fall of man

We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, good and upright, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath.

7. The salvation of man

We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can man be rescued, reconciled and renewed. We believe that salvation is received through repentance towards God and faith towards the Lord Jesus Christ and that by grace through faith man is justified.

8. The Church

We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. We believe that the true church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of believers. We believe that the church’s primary task is to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the unsaved and to be a corporate body in which believers worship God.

    9.  The Ordinances of the Church

Baptism in Water

We believe in baptism by immersion in water as commanded by the Scriptures. We believe that all who repent and believe in Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptised, and by doing so they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in regenerated life.

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that as commanded by the Scriptures, the Lord’s Supper is observed by believers in remembrance of the death and suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe, it is also the symbol expressing our present fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ as well as the mutual fellowship of believers with each other and a profession of His second coming.

10The Return of the Lord Jesus Christ and final judgement

We believe in the blessed hope, the resurrection of the dead upon Christ’s visible, personal and bodily return with His saints to reign for a thousand years on earth. We believe in the final judgement in which the dead would be raised and judged according to their works; sinners together with the devil and his angels to eternal punishment and the righteous to eternal life in the new heaven and new earth.
